#rhaitalks 15 — You were taught to be reactive during your whole life

Our bodies were built out of rage and hunger since ancient times. Year now? 2022. And do ask us to avoid reactiveness — it takes one millisecond before making some stupid sh1*. Contemporary life is telling us we can stand our choices. Can we? Day #5 and you haven’t eaten properly, fruits are falling apart in the refrigerator. Not sure when choices are rational or not. Not sure if the bill was paid via direct debit or is pending. You react by saying “I am a sh1tt4 adult”.

Day #2 that your sleep got worse, allergies hit you and you just wanna shout. Year: 2022 — still. Society did not teach you how to breathe — to make decisions at work, or in your personal life. And your peers will expect from you pleasant behavior at work. You will ask the same from them. Your BFF’s psychiatrist is saying he must not take off those pills. You keep asking what part of ourselves is being controlled by instinct or the industry behind it? “20 missed calls on the phone. I don’t know if I want to pick it up!” — your fave black singer* declares love can be toxic. He was taught to say “yes, this is fine”. Stay stronger, tomorrow is a new day mom said.

Days are flying — a poor lady is yelling at the neighbor mixing the yellow with the red thrash bins. You keep hating your work colleague and you should fake it is easy to work with him. Years pass by and kids keep saying “beat that weirdo”. React. Beat them back and get your own punishment then. Bullying will keep growing. Not sure how long we humans stand. White people killed a Congolese refugee** in your fancy neighborhood after the boy just followed up on his daily payment. Others easily get their sh1* paid monthly and cannot stand the political atmosphere at work, get a side hustle then? You don’t have time for it, ’cause you are too busy solving other people's problems every day ‘til 5pm***.

Day #31 — Crisis management was on their LinkedIn skills, and guys keep faking it. Bias all around. You don’t mind your tone. You just wanna learn how to breathe. Do people make what is needed to do? What’s needed to do then? We overreact. We don’t breathe — It takes one millisecond before making some stupid sh1*. “You don’t want me, you want to change me.” — your fave black singer* keeps singing. You still mess up on the concept of cautiousness and repulsiveness. Why they’re so similar!? There is a fine line between madness and mastery that puzzles us.

B1tch3*, this is fine. We’re hungry and angry dealing with the adult life.

Based on a conversation I had with my ex career manager Juan Espinosa.

**Brutal killing of Congolese refugee shocks Brazil, three arrested. “Brazil’s foreign ministry joined the outpouring of sympathy. The ministry, known as Itamaraty, said in a note, “Itamaraty expresses its indignation over the brutal murder and hopes those responsible are brought to justice as soon as possible.”
***myself — indeed.
